Message from Nick Foster, Festival Chairman – “This year’s festival again has something for everyone – and everyone is welcome”.

 On Friday 6 October at 7.30p.m. in the Village Hall we have the Common Ground Theatre Company with a new play  “The Hellgate Club” ( £14 from www.wegottickets.com/event/586171) Written by Pat Whymark with live music by Julian Harris this murder mystery( based on a true story) is set in Paris in 1905. Several men – all unconnected – have disappeared in the notorious Pigalle area. Super sleuth Jean Tellier is called out of retirement to solve the case….Common Ground are famous for madcap comedies. This might be different?

On Saturday afternoon (7 October 2.00-4.00 p.m.) Debutots are providing a magical entertainment for children aged up to 7 with story-telling, singing and dancing. It is FREE and should be a lot of fun.

On Saturday evening (7 October) the Village Hall will be transformed into a Hungarian Café where the Budapest Café Orchestra will provide an electrifying entertainment of jazz/gypsy/folk music from around Europe played brilliantly on balalaika, guitar, accordion, violin and double bass with repartee from Christian Garrick, the lead, which will have you laughing into the night. A goulash meal (must be booked in advance) will be served from 6.30 p.m. with the band starting at 7.30. Tickets at £15 or £20 with the goulash from www.wegottickets.com/event/586321.

The festival ends on Sunday afternoon in St Mary’s Church at 3.00 p.m. with a concert by EAChO Players from the East Anglian Chamber Orchestra. The programme as follows –
